Single Logon Hints & Tips
Single Logon has many features that can be useful to a wide range of users. This page lists some of the common features that users forget about to help ensure you get the best use of your software.
Additionally, there are changes that have confused some users, this document highlights these changes and how users of the Single Logon versions prior to V1.1.0.0 should use them.
Auto Start Time Delay
Auto-start is a very useful feature as it enables Single Logon to start when the user logs on. This allows Single Logon to automatically start various modules automatically for the user. On some slower PCs this can cause errors when logging on. An example is shown below:
This is caused by the time delay for the auto start feature in Single Logon not being set properly to a long enough period of time to allow your computer to start up properly. To fix this you do the following:
Click the Settings button.
Clicking will load the program settings screen:
On this screen click on the Auto Start Settings tab.
This will load the Auto Start settings screen:
At the bottom of the screen you will see the delay loading option, if the box is ticked then the box to enter the amount of time delay will be active. As you can see in the example above the time delay is set to 1s which isn't enough time for the computer to start up properly before attempting to load your chosen modules. We would suggest setting this at 30s to begin with.
If this doesn't fix it then we recommend putting it back another 30s to 60s and so on until you reach 90s.
If 90s is reached and the error is not resolved then this should be passed to Campbell Software Solutions for investigation.
Password Changing
Some users of Single Logon get the following error message:
This error can be down to one of two things, either the user has incorrectly entered their credentials when entering them for the module, or the user has changed their password for that module manually and simply forgotten to update Single Logon.
This is easily fixed, all you need to do is update your credentials to the correct ones for that module and the module should work as expected again.
NB: Remember if you change your password manually for any module then you also have to change it within Single Logon Credentials otherwise the module will not work.
Patient Context Tab within GPASS
Some users of Single Logon have been worried recently that their Single Logon Tab from within GPASS has disappeared. In GPASS there is no longer a visible Single Logon Tab, however the functionality has not been lost, it has simply been moved.
You will notice that on the Single Logon main screen there is now the Use Patient Details option.
This is the same option you had from within GPASS it has just moved to Single Logon itself instead of being contained within GPASS. This allows Single Logon to maintain the same interface for all Clinical Systems.
It must be enabled, New GPASS logged and select a patient in GPASS before it will be available. Once available Single Logon remembers the last patient you were looking at in GPASS.
If you have not selected a patient, Single Logon will tell you in the form of a message:
Furthermore if New GPASS is not logged in Single Logon will also tell you in the form of a message:
When you have selected a patient their details will be shown within Single Logon as long as the option is enabled.
Single Logon will also update the patient details as the user changes the active patient within GPASS.
Modules where you see the
symbol means they can interact with the patient details and use them in that particular module.
Hotkeys
A good way to stop yourself having to come back to the Single Logon main screen every time you want to use patient's details with a module is to set up Hotkeys.
To do this you click the Settings button:
Clicking will load the program settings screen:
You need to then click on the Module Settings tab.
This will load the module settings screen:
You then choose the desired module and click the Assign Hot Key button.
Once you have assigned a hot key it will be shown next to that module and all you do to save you coming back to the main screen is push the button combination you chose and it will load up that system for you.
As you may have noticed at the top of the screen you can also assign what button(s) you would like to press along with the function key to make the module load. This is designed to stop conflict with other systems that may use hot keys.
